Requesting an ISSN

Print

The publishers who apply for an ISSN are requested to follow a standard procedure. They are reminded that the ISSN assignment is an identification process, not a certification, and does not garanty the quality of their publications.

The procedure and the webform for requesting an ISSN are available on the website of the ISSN International Centre: http://www.issn.org/en/services/requesting-an-issn/

Basically, the procedure consists in:

1. reading the instructions and conditions for ISSN assignment

2. identifying the ISSN Centre responsible for the ISSN assignment

3. providing the information and documents necessary for the identification of the resource by the adequate ISSN Centre.
